Dead Fish Handout 2015

Greetings…

As we wind down the year, we wanted to wish everyone a great holiday. We had an awesome 2015, all thanks to all of you that continue to support us. Looking forward to more fun in the new year. We’ve been holed up in our studio writing the next [long overdue] DFH release which we hope to release in 2016.

In the meantime, as tradition, we jumped into the recording studio for our annual Dead Fish Handout. We love digging into our various different influences and bands we enjoy when trying to narrow down the list of possible songs to cover. This year was no different. We took to an acoustic version of a song called “The Scientist” by Coldplay. It’s a very chill song with a little bit of DFH to it.

We hope you enjoy it.

Thanks again for the continued support.
See you all again in 2016.

What is the Dead Fish Handout?

’round this time, every year, we jump in the studio for an acoustic take of a song or artist that we are fans of. It began back in 2010 with and we’ve done one every year since. We record the song and send it out to you, our DFH Family. And so on Christmas morning, a new Dead Fish Handout awaits in your email inbox. It’s a simple “thank you” to all the people who continue to support us and allow us to do what we do. We appreciate it more than you know.

Update

Writing and sifting through ideas for the long overdue DFH follow-up record has kept us busy. We have some pretty rad stuff we’ve cooked up. Some different. Some right in line with what you’d expect from DFH.

We’re starting to narrow the list down in order to demo some of it with hopes of hitting the studio very soon.

In the meantime, we shot a performance video for “NOTHING STAYS GOLD” which will be out soon. Here’s a little taste of it. (directed by Chino Marin).
