\u201cAcross State Lines\u201d is the debut record by Dead Fish Handshake, a rock band based out of the Northeast United States. Released on March 5th, 2011, the six song collection ranges from the guitar driven riff rock of \u201cUndercurrent\u201d to the ballad-esque melodies of \u201cChanges\u201d and \u201cI Know\u201d. The release is available through online digital retailers as well as physical CD via www.deadfishhandshake.com<\/a> and on tour-dates.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This introduction to the DFH sound, produced by guitarist Rob Ferreira, boasts guest performances by a handful of talented musicians from the NJ area in an effort to feature one of the more promising local scenes on the East Coast.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disappear in the tides that pull you under
Can’t out-swim all the waves of which you’re covered
Now the air is gone, you’re having trouble breathing
And for all that’s left the sharks will start to feed again<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With my hand above your head<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Black water rises in silence
And loneliness let’s you drown again
And when your waves become violent,
It’s emptiness that fills you in the end
Like stones will sink to the bottom
It’s so far down
So just wave goodbye<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blacking out, there was no resuscitation
Feared your life with such avid trepidation
And you wonder why no one is at your rescue
If they cared it was only ’cause they hate to lose<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just let the current come down and bring you far away
As you watch the river, flows on and leads you to your grave
Look around and find that there’s no one left for you to fear

CHANGES<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I remember days when you were next to me.
There was nothing I couldn\u2019t do.

Got caught up in this fire to see how fast it spreads
When everyone’s a liar, it messes with your head
It’s so hard to determine if anything is real
